Congratulations to Gene Patch and Joe Ford for making the Sports Hall of Fame at Central.

Athletes  Gene Patch (1971): A three-sport athlete, Patch’s greatest success was in wrestling. He was a two-time EDC champion and a three-time state placer, capping his career with a 32-0 record and the 155-pound state title as a senior. He also played football three seasons and, in track, placed fourth in the state pole vault and set a school record with a 13-6 mark in 1970.

Significant contributor  Joe Ford(1971): Ford was an all-state runner in cross country and an all-conference pick in basketball. He as a member of the 1970 state basketball championship team. Since the introduction of the shot clock in basketball, Ford has run the clock for almost every single varsity and junior varsity boys and girls basketball game at Central.
